Err, what is a buff???
Err, what is a buff???
There are a lot of unwanted, unloved bikes out there - go on give a bike a good home
I personally love the original "how to wear" video - something about it makes me smile

I own 5 (I think), it's as bad as my sock illness. Wear them in the summer for sweat management and in the winter to keep my ears warm. Carry one in each of my bikes for emergencies. I've actually had buff emergencies!

Love my AV buffs. Since I got them, I have worn one on every ride. No more "helmet hair" or sweat in face, etc.
No more helmet hair, yeah, but MAN, does my hair look horrible when I take off the buff!
Which is why you need a versatile buff in stylin' fun colors that you keep ON even after the ride when hangin' in the shop, the parking lot, or wherever you happen to meet folks, if that's where your ride brings you.
When all my buffs are in the laundry, I opt for a do-rag.

Wow Zen! Wow!
I use a buff, too - a mighty pretty one at that. It's odd how this thing is great is hot weather and great in cold weather. How does that work exactly? I wear it at work (under the bee veil), working at my computer when my bangs drive me crazy, to wick sweat when putting up a fence, and, oh yeah - on the bike

Zen! I betcha your hair goes wispy through the helmet holes! Mine might do that if I allowed it but I attempt Strict Control at all Times.
I don't know how the buff does it. It keeps my head/neck warm when it's cold out and yet when it's warm or hot, I don't get too hot with it on. I haven't noticed that postride buff hair is any worse than generic postride hair but perhaps I'll experiment.
I wear a skull cap under my helmet. A nicer one has a sweat band sewn in so that sweat doesn't run down your glasses or into your eye. Also the cap keeps the hair under control.
And sometimes, I use a bandana as a poor man's substitute.
I have long enough hair that I can get the bottom into a small ponytail, but there is alot that won't reach. For that I use the Goody's sports headbands that are flat. You can get them at any drugstore, WalMart, etc. They have little rubber grippies all over them, so they stay in place. With that on and then my helmet, I don't have a problem with the hair coming outside of the helmet.
I tend to use a buff under my helmet. It wicks sweat and keeps my hair from looking really goofy - it'll poof through the helmet holes and hang down in my face. I can pull it down over my ears if it's cold and if it's really cold, I can use another one around my neck. It's a fantastic invention![]()
