Anyone else's allergies keeping them from hitting the road/trail? Mine started up badly on Wednesday and I was hoping I'd be good enough to ride by the weekend. It's going to be really nice this weekend and I wanted to get some good riding time in. Right now I just want to be able to breathe out of my nose.

I feel your pain. Usually mine kick in around June when the cottonwood starts to waft around in the air...but I'm already seeing some of that now. Mine have been good so far, though. Usually I can breathe through my nose when I'm physically active, but as soon as I stop it clogs right up again. Luckily, June is my only semi-bad month.

My son (22) had it really bad this week. We gave him a Claritan and it helped a great deal.

I'd had to take my allergy meds almost for my last few rides. It's not my nose that bothers me the most when I ride. but my eyes. They start to tear up really badly. Then my contacts get kind of cloudy, and I can't see where I'm going. Not good! Later in the fall, another round of allergies kick in that causes a lot more congestion. I can hardly wait.

Me too! Try Similisan Allergy Relief Drops. It's homeopathic. It's the only eye drop that ever worked for me. It's expensive and has to be used in 30 days.

I asked my optometrist about it. It said that 'it's a mystery' why it works so good...but he can't dispute the results that he's heard about.

For the first time in my life, I'm not going through Spring time allergy bouts that knock me off my feet. I think it's one of the positive outcomes of the aging process...

I live in one of the nation's allergy capitals. My eyes constantly get dry and red from them when I wear my contacts. Sneezing can be a year round occurance. They come and go at their leisure. I take Allegra-D because my allergies usually cause sinus infections. I also use Flonase with the Allegra and have a prescription for allergy drops to get filled.

So yes, I fill your pain.

After each ride this week, my eyes have been burning. Using Similisan Allergy Relief drops right after the ride gives me instant relief.
