    surgery tomorrow

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I am late posting but have just gotten home and on the boards to ask. I am having a vaginal hysterectomy tomorrow morning (just found out for sure today). I wonder if anyone else has been through the experience & if you can tell me what to expect from recovery.

What were the first few days like?

And when could you resume cycling?

    Thanks!

Thank you all so much - TE girls are the best! I am not looking forward to the recovery, but I AM looking forward to not bleeding and being anemic and feeling tired all the time. Somehow all that does not fit with what I really want to be doing!

I'll be home sometime Thursday & will post as soon as I am able. Thanks everyone!

Hope you have a speedy recovery! One of my teammates had this done over the winter. She was back on her bike (and feeling great) in a very short time. I don't remember exactly how long, but I seem to recall being rather amazed (as in you had what done, when and how are you here!), so I think it may have been counted in days rather than weeks!

Good luck tomorrow! I had this done long enough ago that I don't remember exactly how long recovery took, except that it was over pretty darn fast. I also distintly remember how much better I felt, and especially nice was having that PMS cloud lift.

Eden and Bmo3 - thank you so much for your good wishes. You don't know how much your support and encouragement means.

Triskeliongirl - you make me feel much better! Reading "pretty darn fast" is so encouraging. I hope I heal like you did.

Good luck tomorrow IFJane! I'll be sending positive energy and bright coloured healing butterflies your way - green and purple, specifically. Let me know if you see them. We'll talk about the pain drugs after that!

    Hugs and butterflies,

Don't try to do too much, you will be utterly exhausted initially. I remember thinking about and planning...a trip to the bathroom, it took a lot of energy just to move around post-op.

Hope you feel tons better soon!
