    Day Drummer I send you much love for being a expert at getting blood from a turnip. My husband is on week three of hopsital stay (for who knows how long) and we both love the phlebotimists (even if I can't spell it) He's a hard stick and we would rather someone that knows what they're doing draw his samples!
    I am a secretary at a small state university in Mississippi, (Delta State, home of the FIghting Okra) also a non tradtional student, working on a second degree (Psych). I want to teach somethingm, just as an adjunct- I need to keep my day job! I am also Mom to 2 fluffy pomeranians and these days I spend a lot of time driving back and forth from Cleveland to Jackson to see my husband who was just diagnosed with Leukemia.
    A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

    I would think, given enough time, that a banana slug could devour a patch of okra. What can an okra do?

    You know there is a team called the Fighting Okra - Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. I lived there for 5 years.

    My job - Molecular Biologist - was on fish, now bees. DNA is DNA as they say. My focus now is detecting genes associated with mite resistance. No grants to write - the joy of being a fed.

    Web and database developer for a med school. I don't work with patient or research data, only adminstrative data. I can't kill anyone!

    In my "spare" time I also bake and garden, both of which I like to do with my 2-year-old son. My husband and I have been renovating our house off and on for 11 years.

    Washington, not to be out done, has the Evergreen College Fighting Geoduck (pronounced gooey-duck) that also has its own very interesting fight song. If you don't know what a geoduck looks like you should check it out - then you'll get the song http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoduck

    The Geoduck Fight Song

    (words and music by Malcolm Stilson, 1971)

    Go, Geoducks go,
    Through the mud and the sand,
    let's go.
    Siphon high, squirt it out,
    swivel all about,
    let it all hang out.

    Go, Geoducks go,
    Stretch your necks when the tide
    is low
    Siphon high, squirt it out,
    swivel all about,
    let it all hang out.
