    Thanks for posting this.

Why is it that there are fewer pictures of the women and far less action shots of the women?
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

I was wondering the same thing.
But, I really enjoyed both slide shows. Thanks so much for sharing!

Because the women are more coordinated, less macho/aggressive, and less prone to accidents?

Also, did you note that the "Cutters" won...the same winners as in Breaking Away!!

I haven't seen the movie in many years but I remember the Cutters. I seem to remember a road race in the movie but all of these pictures were from the track. Am I remembering wrong? I've got to rent this and watch again.

The women's race is Friday afternoon and there are far more people partying and drinking than attending the race. It's no surprise-- women's sports at IU are usually treated like a side note. When I was out riding on Thursday, the ladies from Teter blew by me like a leg-powered locomotive. It was impressive to see.

HillSlug: the road race in Breaking Away is not related to the Little 500. Team Cinzano comes to Indianapolis and Dave Stoeller trains to go race with them. He holds his own, but has his innocence shattered when one of the Italian riders stuffs his frame pump into Dave's front wheel, causing him to crash. This is one of my favorite things to watch when I'm on the trainer.

    Saw it in HD

HDNet broadcast it Saturday night in HD. It was really cool watching it in High Def. I Tivo'd it and fast forwarded it the next day. The history of the race was really interesting and one of my favorite movies growing up was "Breaking Away." Look for it next year.

Thanks for posting those Mr. Silver. After getting two degrees from I.U. and living in Bloomington for 8 years, I have to say that I got kind of misty-eyed looking at those pictures. I just might have to watch Breaking Away tonight.

Go Cutters!!! I think I heard that this is the 7th time in a row they've won! Gotta love it when the underdog wins..
Don't think of it as getting hot flashes. Think of it as your inner child playing with matches
