I don't know about the rest of you but I saw glimpses of the sun this morning and its finally suppose to get warm. I swear if it rained another day with kids home on vacation from school I would have gone out of my mind. Hope everyone gets out to ride.

How's the wind, gals? South of you, we were in wind tunnel central Sunday through late Tuesday. I braved it & rode Tuesday--gust were only to 35-40mph or so. uggh. We got 70s and sunny predicted here today and thru the weekend, so I hope it comes your way.

Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70's in CT!

I am going on a leisurely, but hilly, 50 mile bike ride with two friends. I can't wait - I am soooo excited.

Did my 50 (actually ended up being only 46 miles).

Very challenging - very hilly!

It is just about impossible to bike where I live in CT without experiencing hills.

I was dead tired at the end. The first 40 miles were very pleasurable - the last six were not. My legs were just tired out. I remember thinking, "If I see another #&**! hill, I am going to scream." And scream I did! But the scenery was beautiful, and the company was great too. No regrets at all.

I feel fine today, my legs aren't even sore. But my neck hurts from leaning over the handlebars. I see a nice massage in my near future - Ahh...

I am training for the Flattest Century in the East, which is in RI on September 9th. Anyone else doing it?

I am a very slow biker, but I really love it. The century will probably take me 10 hours. Yesterday's 50 miles took me 5 hours (7 hours including lunch and breaks). But I presume that the century won't be as hilly. YEA!

Yeah! I love spring in New England! Got my first ride in of the season. As hard as I tried, I determined this year that I just hate riding in 40 degree weather...and that's all we have had - until now! Felt so good to be out in the warm sun. Hope everyone has enjoyed this amazing weekend!

I grew up in the Naugatuck Valley of CT - but never really rode a bike while there. I went back home (family is still there) recently, brought my bike to do some training rides for an upcoming century ride. Boy! Was it frustrating...I couldn't go ANYwhere without this big giant hill looming in front of me! It was only then that I truely appreciated that, yes, the Naugatuck Valley really IS a valley!!!

Yeah...good luck with those hills! CT is a hilly place.

It was for the Seagull Century in Salisbury Maryland, run every year Columbus Day weekend. The Eastern Shore of Maryland is VERRRRRY flat! I've never done the RI century, but I'd bet the Seagull is flatter (but windier). I've seen some hills in RI (I went to college there).
