Gingerin, congrats on getting out and doing the miles. The biggest hurdle for me is just going out the door with my bike. Yes, before you know it the miles will be gradually quadrupling.

um, i suggest you start looking for public restrooms. I have a list of favorites
and least favorites (least favorite: on top of Mercer Island in the park; glossy
stainless steel everywhere; NO DOORS!!!!!!
)
bike shops usually have humble but usable restrooms.
