We went out on our first real ride today with Monty.

I would call it a qualified success. The bottom of the basket really needs to be reinforced, but all in all, I'm happy with our system.

Monty was more, shall we say, active this trip out. I fear it was me. He kept seeing/hearing me and wanted to come over, sit on my lap and tell me all about it. He was on the noisy side, too. On the positive side, the harness kept him where he belonged. I only had to really yell at him once. Not a bad early effort.

All three of us enjoyed the Subway sandwiches (NB: Remember to get a cup of water for the dog. Ice from the cola offered to the dog makes hands sticky and cold.), the little walk in the park, and the fresh air.

On the down side, I fear we are missing all the double takes that surely are happening as DH and Monty ride by. Sad, really.

With patience, this will work.
