Really, how's she ride? She looks really comfy. Do the Ritchey bio max come in silver? I think that's what you said but I can't see it..

    Woo hoo..
Here are some pics of the bars. Please don't look at my wrapping job, my first one ever, or 3rd if you count the times I rewrapped within the space of an hour. This weekend I'm going to try the twine wrap on the Rivendell site. Anyway, I had to go online to get the biomax bars in silver, but they are out there. Mine came from ebay and I sold my black ones for almost the same price, around $35. I had a tough time finding the boa stem (also saw this first on TE) as I wanted to set it up mostly for touring, but if I decide to do the show-me-games this summer, I can put my Ritchey stem back on to lower them. Found it semi-locally in St. Louis. Oh, and I got a stem cap and spacers from purelycustom.com. I also learned of this on TE.

I live 30 miles from the nearest town with an lbs, so I do a lot of research on these forums. Not sure how I was making it without all this stuff before!

Do you like 'em? Do they help you reach the brakes in the drops?

I liked them on my Jamis, and am still trying to get them in the right place on this one. Seems like when they are right on the top, they're too far in the drops, but I think it's more the size of my shifters. I tried the Specialized Dolce bars first and sent those back as these were a better fit (and reach) for me. The measurement of them is a little deceiving. They are measured c-c at the drop ends but the drop ends are about 2cm wider than the ends of the top of the bar, (they flare out) and I wanted my top bar a little wider, so I went up a size and I am really happy with it. Not sure how they would be for racing or speed, as I wanted to be more upright, touring, looking around, waving (small town it's required) and looking for wildflowers to take pics of for Margo49 in Israel, but also having a comfortable bike for long, long rides.

I know there are others with these bars on this board. I've only been riding with drop bars for a year, so I'm certainly not an expert! I did do some research online and did find that the Biomax bars are for a more comfortable position and smaller hands. I found my options pretty limited, though, because I wanted silver.
