If you're training by yourself, you may be more comfortable doing the ride by yourself. I ride by myself most of the time and sometimes have issues riding with a group. I'm facing the opposite problem with a group I've been loosely training with. We are doing an organized ride next weekend and, because I ride at my own pace and do my own thing I'm hoping I will not be expected to stay with the group for the whole ride. Sounds kinda of selfish, but this is a hilly ride that I can only do at my own pace.If I need to stop, I need to stop. If I'm feeling good, and want to ride, I want to ride! I still enjoy myself, pick up conversations with other riders along the way, and generally have a great time. Except for all the hills.
I guess what I'm getting at, while it sounds like the rest of the "team" is rather rude, don't let it stop you from having a great ride. Riding by yourself can be great fun and a lot less stressful. bikerHen
