wow, when your body says no, it MEANS no!

    you are one tough gal.
    next time you'll be better.

I like how you combined vicious and viscous, both terms to describe the wind!

I think it is amazing that you kept on hammering through those winds. Good job.

Ok, now I'm crying... You girls are all so kind to me. You are lifting me up!!
I just noticed that registration for next year opens at 10:00 am today... Should I pull the plug?? Hmmmm.....
    Yeah, I probably will!!
And RNR girl... I didn't restrict my puking to porta potties, I puked behind tree's over the edge of bridges, behind walls. I was an equal opportunity puker!
I don't know the exact number, but it was AT LEAST 6 times...

Oh and as for the video. It's on You tube. Search for Ironman Arizona. You can see Denises 2006 video there. But BE WARNED the music my friend Kevin used has a BAD word in it!! - Mother F-... Not what I would have choosen, but I do like the beat of the music. He was actually there video taping it yesterday. But I guess that footage will go to the cutting room floor...

Well what a day it was...

Now it's tempting to create you an Iron medal with a little bite out of it.

You are so awesome. I can't imagine the will and determination you must have, not only to train for this event, but then to keep going in that wind. They should give you all medals for riding in that wind, nevermind the running. And then for you to keep going, running another 17+ miles (while puking!), I think that makes you a hero. Well done. And well done for being smart enough to stop when you knew you should. You're such a wonderful inspiration to so many. Take care during your recovery.

Oh Denise...hugs....it must be really frustrating to have worked that hard, and have the body not with you on race day. I hope that it helps you some to know how much you have inspired all of us, and obviously lots of other folks too. We all love ya!

Oh and just for the record...barfing in a port-a-potty makes you iron in my book my friend.

    I totally agree Ruth!

I think having to be IN there when it was dark and smelling like it would that late in the day... would make me even more sick!

You were nice Denise... I would have been puking on the side of the road for all to see.

Me too! No way would I be puking in a Porta Potty

Just making it as far as you did was a huge accomplishment, especially with those winds! Good for you for knowing when to call it quits.

Well done, Denise! You are such a trooper. I can't believe you ran 17.6 miles puking!!! You are so determined and so strong, and you should be so proud of yourself - and RECOVER.

    You are an IronWoman.
