Thinking of you and sending good weather vibes. They've been off on the forecasts here all week (it's been much better than predicted). I will hope for light cooling breezes only and mild temperatures.

Enjoy your day. Let us worry about the weather for you!

Alright. I'll have another talk with the wind gods but they don't seem to be listening.

Denise -- Sending good weather vibes your way! You'll do great... Here's hoping that the course is more tailwind than headwind.
Remember, it's the crosswinds that are the worst when you're own the bike.

Denise - I'll be sending out good vibes your way. The weather forcast for all the weekend races looks horrible, yours with the wind, mine with wind (23mph sustained + gusts), cold, and possibly rain, and the horrid forcast for Boston marathon. We'll all be earning it this weekend, and hopefully not scraping any of us off the ground I have a feeling there's going to be a limited aerobar use this weekend. And best of luck to you. You rock!!!

RM--no matter WHAT, you rock. You are such a champ, girl. I'll be wishing best possible weather for you, and cheering for you all day long. Go get 'em!

Thumbs up I'm in my happy place...

    Hey all-
JUst wanted to check in again. I'm in a happy place today. I refuse to worry about the wind anymore. I'm just gonna put my head down and deal with it.
I'm a fighter, always have been, always will be. I've had cervical cancer and beat it, I was addicted to drugs as a teenager but I walked away from them because I knew I had something better planned for me. I've been told that I wasn't in good enough shape to do an Ironman, but I have. I've been told that I would be SOO much faster if I could only lose weight. Yeah, uhh ok. I'll get working on that!

But today I feel like an Ironman. I feel like a bad asz. I went to the race site today and pulled on my wetsuit and got into the water with all my Iron buddies. Those I knew and those I didn't. But I deserved to be there. I earned it. I swam for about a half hour and felt smooth as butter. I didn't worry about the fact that I'm slower than all those other fishies. I've put my time in at the pool just like they have. I came home and my husband looked at me and said "wow! You really LOOK like an Ironman. Your legs are in GREAT SHAPE".. Um thanks for FINALLY noticing!
I talked to my adopt an ironman kids today and the teacher remarked how I look so much fitter this year. Yes, that made me feel GREAT!

I'm feeling happy and very grateful. Grateful that I have been given this gift. I just wish that others could feel the Ironman vibe that I have coursing through my veins right now. It's better than any drug. It truely is a gift. And as Prefontaine once said
"to give anything less than your best is to sacrafice the gift"

So on Sunday I will give my BEST!

Thanks again for all of your well wishes. I am going to carry them with me on Sunday. I wish I could hug you all!
    Ciao!

    Trac-

You are MISSED this year!!! Spencer was asking if you and DA BOYZ were gonna be here. I think he wanted someone to play with... One day you have to do one with me!! Then we can leave the boys with Tony!

So I dropped my bike and bags off today. It's very cool that the bike rack has a sticker with your name, bib #, and AG on it. For some reason I had a hard time leaving my bike. It's like a part of me is hanging on that rack back in Tempe. I also dropped off the gear bags. The volunteers are so kind. They all wished me good luck and told me that they would see me in the morning. One guy also said "now go home and take a nap. Because you KNOW you won't be able to sleep tonight".. Ohh how true wise man!!

OH OH OH!!! I met our very own Laura lastnight! Knappalaura I think is her screen name. Anyway, I was going to have to eat by myself at the atlete dinner because they sold out of extra tickets. So I was standing in line (Tony and Spencer went to get dinner on their own) and I heard "Denise??"... Well I have been getting that ALL WEEK because of my you tube video. So I figured that is what she was recognizing me from. Nope it was Ms. Laura and her sweet as pie mother. I asked if I could sit with them since I was solo. So that was nice. She is such a sweetie pie! And her mother is just the most wonderfully sweet woman.
    But anyway, that was cool.
Well, I;m gonna go take that nap now. The husband and his friend from nor cal are going mtn. biking and SPencer is firmly in front of spongebob on the tube...
We were up earlyt this am for the kids run. Spencer ran a solid 9 min mi! I'm very proud of him!
    Ciao bellas!
    Denise
