All you need is love...la-dee-da-dee-da...all you need is love!
Congrats on your decision to save this little dog. She will be a very loyal friend.
We have a beautiful Westie female. Our second. First Westie was handed down through 4 previous owners before we got her at 9 years old. (The last threatening to have her put down because she didn't always remember to stay off the lawn, and do her business in the allowed area of the yard.) She had a few little quirks, which didn't really bother us. I couldn't use a broom near her and if she heard the ironing board being moved or erected, she would attack its legs. I became quite an expert on ironing board manoeuvres. She became an extremely loyal, loving, beautiful family member and we were devastated when she suddenly died (natural causes) at 13 years.
Our current Westie is very spoiled. She sleeps on the bed, tells us when she wants to go for a walk, and often where. One day she refused to walk home as the person we usually visit wasn't home when we arrived. She sat down and refused to leave. I had to carry her 1km. 8kgs gets heavy after a while.
Enjoy your new little pooch. So happy for you.
If your new little friend develops any skin irritation (ours is allergic to fleas and just one bite will set off a chain reaction of scratching, rubbing on furniture and chewing, sometimes causing raw spots), we have found that weekly or fortnightly bathing with a herbal dog soap (www.greenleafnatural.com), followed by 1/4 cup of lemon juice in the warm rinse water has prevented a repeat of the condition. I suspect the lemon juice does something to the ph balance of the skin and limits bacterial buildup. She smells great. Worth a try.
I really like the name Madison. Everyone I've dated has always said they don't like the name, so I thought if I got a female dog I'd use the name.![]()

You will just know that you are going to finish and that was what you set out to do."

Someone around here recently got a pup and named her Cadence. They call her Cady (sounds like Katie but with a D, not a T) for short. I thought that was a cute name.
dang, i thought this was a "name my bike" thread.
Can you take a picture so we can see her? Maybe sparkle. Spark or sparky for short. Since she went from sad to happy!
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
