Veronica is thinking the same way I am. Every time you say her name from now on, I hope you will be reminded of how you helped her to come alive!!

Congrats on the new Westie. I grew up with two of them: Bonnie was one and the other was named Fitz/Fitzie (Fitzpatrick MacDougal was his AKC name). As you already know, they're very loving dogs with HUGE personalities. I have a friend with two Westies named Lizzie and Franny. I like both of those names for a Westie.

BTW, my dream dog is a female Scottie that I plan to name Stella (don't ask me why).

As a ex-dog trainer I know from experience - try and find a short easy name for your dog. There is a funny commercial on TV right now where the man comes in and calls this long abnoxious name out for his dog and the dog of course does not answer. Try to keep it no longer than 2 syllables or make sure you have a good nick name (which will become the dogs name anyway so just go there).

I have a friend who named his dog something like SirHighland of WestPort and it's now down to "Meat Tube" or "Meat" for short (yes it is a weiner dog). Keep it simple...

For Westies I do like Molly... something that sounds Scottish like maybe Kirsty, Aila, Artis, Netta, Torra or Skena.
