This is my second pair of Injinji socks. www.injinji.com The first were a low (ankle high) thin artificial fiber of some sort. I reveiwed them earlier.
These pretty critters are the "Injinji NuWool Crew" size Medium in slate gray.
I love them. All the good points of my low injinjis, plus these are mostly wool! (70% wool, 25% nylon, 5% lycra)
Not too thick, not too thin, warm and cozy, and crew height so they keep my ankles warm.
These may be my new favorite sock. I like wearing toe socks in my regular shoes, too. And they feel nice in my bike shoes.

Ooh, wool toe socks. Might have to try those and see how they compare to the synthetics. Maybe they will not get smelly as easily.
My only complaint about the Injiji's is that after constant regular wear, they start to wear out earlier than I'd expect. Most of my socks would have been worn through in the toes by that point, though, and the Injiji's only wear thin in the pads and wide parts of my feet instead of getting holes, so maybe we can call it even (or BETTER) than regular socks anyway.
I really like the feel of them, I wear toe socks a lot. I do try to wear regular socks biking and running, too, because I know come triathlon time, the toe socks won't be an option. I can't do the no-socks, but toe socks are just a little too time consuming with dirt or sand on your feet. Hmm, maybe if I practice, I can get better at it... the Injijis do go on easily![]()
My older injinjis are starting to show wear, but not too bad. Mostly just losing color in areas that rub a lot.
I have to remember that these socks can't "switch" from foot to foot like my others. So every time I wear them they get friction in the same spot. (my older Smartwools have two holes in each: where the big toe breaks through when the sock is on the left foot, and where the big toe breaks through when the same sock is on the right foot.)
Guess I should file my toenails more often...
I've worn the wool ones two days in a row now (and slept part of the night in them, too!) and they have no smell yet.
Wool is just too nifty for words! Guess I'd better wash these so I can wear them again tomorrow without risking severe cooties.

Slept in the socks again last night, and wore them again today. Ok, now they are starting to have a smell... Might have to actually wear OTHER socks tomorrow so I can wash these.
Oooh, I do like these socks.![]()

Question for you - I looked at these socks and decided against them thinking that the toes would bother me - cutting into my foot. Do you not have an issue with that? Are these really comfortable?

They don't cut into my feet or toes at all. (I suppose that would be an issue if you got a size that was too small) The toes are shaped and sized for each toe, so they don't bag out either. The seams at the big toes are not on the outer edge, which I really appreciate as seams often rub on my big toes because of the way I walk. (the seams are up a little)
Honestly, I wore those socks for 3 days because I like them so much. I LOVE being able to wiggle my toes and use my toes. I did a 10 hr shift on my feet yesterday and my feet weren't bothered by the socks, in fact they felt pretty good by the end of the day.
I think I much prefer the wool socks, but I'm a woolweenie. Injinji also makes cotton toe socks and tabi socks.
My next pair of socks will likely be another pair of Injinji woollies.

Thanks! I may now try a pair, based on your review. I liked the looks of them... Oh - and I would get the wool. I discovered wool socks last year, and they are now the "go to" socks, despite the hundreds of pairs of cotton that I have...

They'd go nicely with these purple Chaco flip-flops I'm trying very hard not to buy.

Lavender, Knot!
There is a world of difference between purple and lavender.
And it even *said* so at the bottom
And I would *not* put them together with the flip-flops either

Now I just need Harlot to make these in light purple, too.

(I'd be all over these Harlot shorts if they weren't camo. I have an issue with camo.)

lavender, periwinkle, plum, marguerite, eggplant.... not purple?
thank you for saving me from a fashion faux pas, and thereby keeping me from buying purple socks. (gray is good!)
I still got a hankerin' for those purple flip-flops, though.
(they're 1/3 the money for a triple for Flossie. Must restrain myself for my bike's sake!)
