AH, now I understand! i was totally confused about the German thing

The weeds are gone! The retaining wall is built. The tree rings are not done, but darn I am tired.

Why didn't I stop to put on sunscreen before venturing out? I slapped in on my face and went to work on the yard. Now I am red. I usually try to protect my fair skin, why not today? I just wanted one more thing to bother me.

The body worlds is kind of creepy to me. That is just not my thing.

We (mostly DH) pruned the peach tree, and some mystery trees at the back of the yard. I moved the peony, hydrangea and english ivy. We hauled all the branches and cuttings out to the front lawn for chipping when the guys come around. Can't remember if that is this week or next week. We moved some stuff around in the carport and changed the position of the BBQ so it will be adjacent to the "outdoor living room". We hauled all the bags of leaves and other rakings to the curb also, for pickup - hopefully this week.

The dogs had a run in the park. 'Cuda has not licked his foot today. He'll have to wear the cone when we go to work tomorrow though.

We installed the new light in the kitchen. It looks magnificent.

I made a nice dinner with loads of vegetables, and chicken in a home made curry sauce.

And DH and I spent some time with the mardis gras mala's, and did a pseudo meditation session. And he wants to do it again tomorrow.

Now, if only I could focus on assignment number three of my course.

All in all it was a good weekend, despite that there was no time on the bike. Hopefully we'll get a ride in this week.

Dum-de-dum, twiddling my thumbs.
I'm up in the middle of the night waiting to register for a race. Registration was supposed to open today, so I thought I'd wait up for midnight. But apparently the race people aren't up waiting to let us register.
Does this make any sense? Boy, am I tired!

Went for my bike ride last night after eating deep fried chicken...it came with me on the ride, was with me when I got back and is still sitting on my stomach this morning. I guess it just loves me!!! (but it was gggooooodddd)!

That peony prob'ly won't flower for another few years now. They don't like being moved. But they can't always get what they want. Sometimes ya gotta move'em, and they do survive it. They just take some years settling into their new home.

Good morning, Duck! You're right, and it's a risk I've had to take. I'm not terribly worried, though. When we moved in in June last year, there was no evidence that it had bloomed at all last year. And when my SIL, the award winning landscape designer, gave her recommendations for what to do with our overgrown yard, it was the only plant she recommended I move. When she said it was a peony, I was shocked. It didn't look like anything to me at the time. Besides, it was right in the middle of the corner we'll be developing as our "outdoor living room", so it had to go. It's now in a sunnier part of the yard, which I hope it likes, and as long as it grows, even if it does not bloom, I will be happy. Really, I'll be amazed at everything that survives and thrives under my care. I am so not a green thumb!

One of mine bloomed for the first time last summer. I think I'd moved it once, thus delaying first bloom til age 4 or 5. Worth waiting for, though. Lovely! And yes, they like sun. Good luck with yours!
