hi trigurl, it doesn't snow where i live here in arizona, but it does get a little chilly in the mornings. i meet with a group of people to swim, which keeps me motivated (i can't really sleep in if they're waiting for me!). have you tried getting in with the local master's group?

i have a couple workouts you could try if you're interested, just let me know.

I did try swimming with the masters, I was the only one there and the masters coach wasn't even there that day so I ended up swimming with the tadpoles! what the heck is a bronco billy supposed to do? that was my first and last time. The masters coach has talked me into doing a swim meet with them in April tho, he likes my swimming

Please send me those workouts, anything will help at this point.

It's so cold outside, I just remind myself of how extra warm the pool area feels! Honestly, I swim at the Y and it feels like summer in there.

My gym keeps it warm but not warm enough for me! they have a lot of older people who walk in the pool and do aerobics classes so if it gets too cold they hear about it

I found a website somehow called Counterpart Coaching, a swim coach posts a new swim workout everyday, most of the people on the forum seem to be triathletes, I may try those.
