Thats right girls. It's that time already!!
I did my last long one today. It was a 100 mi ride/ 3 mi run brick. I ended up negative splitting the ride to come in faster than ever. I finished in 6:24 with a 15.6 mph average. And let me tell you, I made up A LOT of ground!! The first hour I averaged 14.8 mph, the 2nd hour I was up to 15 mph,. the third hour I was at a whopping 15.1 mph aver. So yeah, I defintely rode the last 50 stronger than the first. I don't know what happened? It seemed like my legs were dead this morning??I just couldn't keep a good pace. Maybe I was cold? I did warm up after my stop at 50 miles. I shed my long sleeve jersey and leg warmers and it seemed to bring me to life. Who knows?? All I know is after my stellar swim on Thursday, and now my ride today- I'm READY!
So now I just have to bring down the distance and rest up those legs for April 15th.
Of course now I get to go insane while I obsess over every minute detail!lol
But at least I figured out what I'm wearing.
So anyhoo, here is my week in a nutshell:
25-Mar(sun) 60 mi ride in 3:54/3 mi run brick
26-Mar(mon) 2000 mtr hard swim
27-Mar (tues)1 hour spin on trainer (pm) 6 mi run (am)
28-Mar (weds) 1 hour spin on trainer (high intensity)
29-Mar (thurs) 2.4 mi swim 1:46 (am) 1 hr ride 17.1 mi/1 mi run brick (pm)
30-Mar (fri) off***** Can you imagine why??
31-Mar (sat) 100 mi ride 6:24 av 15.6 mph/3 mi run brick
LET THE TAPER BEGIN
Ya'll have a good week! Stay safe out there.
Ciao
Denise

Best of luck. We'll be watching your progress on the internet like last year. I hope they do a better job of updating the data this year--seems like we were kept waiting and wondering last year!!!
Whoever said last man standing wins never asked a girl to play!
But this year should be MUCH better! LAst year they had just changed over to the new website. Today I tracked my coach at the Cali lite and his splits hit the site pretty quickly. So my fingers are crossed!![]()
Great job, Denise!!!
So what ARE you wearing race day??? On what jersey did you decide? Show us, please...
Enjoy the taper. It's the most difficult part. Relax, rest, and try not to lose your mind. Having such an EXCELLENT ride yesterday must've made you feel truly ready!!!! You got it, girl!

Wow lady... you are rocking it this year!
I can't wait to see how you to do on race day.![]()
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather, to skid in broadside thoroughly used-up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!!"
I'm eager to see you race denise, you'll be awesome!
I'm wearing this bike jersey I got from TE
http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=23287
Kinda plain, but it fits well and is very comfy.
And I'm wearing this BRIGHT PINK number for the run. I would have also bought this from TE, but they don't carry skirtsports (yet)...

It is also super comfortable. And actually pretty flattering. But you will DEFINTELY be able to see me coming on the run course. I ordered a bike jersey from them as well. But it's going back. Too long and narrow. I felt pinched in it.
I like the bike jersey for sure!!! It looks super comfy. And I love the pink top for the run!!! Very cute- and that way we'll see you in the dark of night coming towards the finish line like a beacon of light!!!!! Woo hooo! Can't wait for race day!

Great job, Denise! You're READY!
I like both of those tops a lot, too.

"Keep plugging along. The finish line is getting closer with every step. When you see it, you won't remember that you are hurting, that anything has gone wrong, or just how slow or fast you are.
You will just know that you are going to finish and that was what you set out to do."
-- Michael Pate, "When Big Boys Tri"
Wow Denise, you're going to do AWESOME! Can't wait...![]()
Hey Denise - you'll do great. I'll watch the second half of your race that day (after I get home from mine). It's sounds like you're more than ready!!
And those clothes sure are cute![]()
