IMAZ Training log... ALL HAIL THE TAPER!

Thats right girls. It's that time already!!
I did my last long one today. It was a 100 mi ride/ 3 mi run brick. I ended up negative splitting the ride to come in faster than ever. I finished in 6:24 with a 15.6 mph average. And let me tell you, I made up A LOT of ground!! The first hour I averaged 14.8 mph, the 2nd hour I was up to 15 mph,. the third hour I was at a whopping 15.1 mph aver. So yeah, I defintely rode the last 50 stronger than the first. I don't know what happened? It seemed like my legs were dead this morning?? I just couldn't keep a good pace. Maybe I was cold? I did warm up after my stop at 50 miles. I shed my long sleeve jersey and leg warmers and it seemed to bring me to life. Who knows?? All I know is after my stellar swim on Thursday, and now my ride today- I'm READY!
So now I just have to bring down the distance and rest up those legs for April 15th.
Of course now I get to go insane while I obsess over every minute detail! lol
But at least I figured out what I'm wearing.
So anyhoo, here is my week in a nutshell:

25-Mar(sun) 60 mi ride in 3:54/3 mi run brick

    26-Mar(mon) 2000 mtr hard swim
27-Mar (tues)1 hour spin on trainer (pm) 6 mi run (am)
28-Mar (weds) 1 hour spin on trainer (high intensity)
29-Mar (thurs) 2.4 mi swim 1:46 (am) 1 hr ride 17.1 mi/1 mi run brick (pm)
30-Mar (fri) off***** Can you imagine why??
    31-Mar (sat) 100 mi ride 6:24 av 15.6 mph/3 mi run brick
    LET THE TAPER BEGIN
Ya'll have a good week! Stay safe out there.
    Ciao
    Denise

Great ride Denise. Wow, it's going to be great watching your progress on IMLive. Post your bib number when you get it, if you can, OK.

I'm all pumped up. You'd think that I was racing not you.

Don't go crazy. Enjoy the down time.

Wow, is it that time again!

Best of luck. We'll be watching your progress on the internet like last year. I hope they do a better job of updating the data this year--seems like we were kept waiting and wondering last year!!!

    I know ladyfish!

But this year should be MUCH better! LAst year they had just changed over to the new website. Today I tracked my coach at the Cali lite and his splits hit the site pretty quickly. So my fingers are crossed!

    Great job, Denise!!!
So what ARE you wearing race day??? On what jersey did you decide? Show us, please...

Enjoy the taper. It's the most difficult part. Relax, rest, and try not to lose your mind. Having such an EXCELLENT ride yesterday must've made you feel truly ready!!!! You got it, girl!

Wow lady... you are rocking it this year!

I can't wait to see how you to do on race day.

Hey Denise - you'll do great. I'll watch the second half of your race that day (after I get home from mine). It's sounds like you're more than ready!!

And those clothes sure are cute
