Absolutely not crazy! You are going to have so much fun on your trip - and don't forget, an 'eventful' adventure is more memorable (and makes better stories when you come home ) Welcome to the forum!

Not crazy at all! I was where you are now this time last year -- lots of running and maybe get out once a month during the summer to ride 10 miles. My incentive to get out and ride more was a trip to the Tour de France. So, I just started running less and riding more. I fell a couple of times getting used to the clipless pedals. But by the time the trip rolled around, I was much more comfortable on the bike and I did fine. I'm sure you will do great and will have a wonderful time.

Welcome to the forum and keep us posted on how things go.

I say Go For It. You'll have a good reason to ride - just call it training.

And remember - you regret those things you didn't do MUCH more than the things you did. (Generally )
