Well, I'm not scared off for good. The (ahem, not legal) singletrack I did a few weeks ago was very fun, so I know "easy" singletrack does exist.
Sorry about your day V.

Steve was invited by Sue so we didn't know anything about him except that he's pres of the location mtb club, RATS - Rockville Alternative Transportation Society. Turns out he rode a single speed over EVERYTHING! Just the fact that he was riding a singlespeed should have been our clue that we should have set our own route. I think he really wanted to show us his local gem. I told Sue that if he shows up for the next ride he has to stay in back or take a separate group that wants to do black diamond stuff.
Thanks. We were really having fun until I fell. I think if it hadn't been raining and I could have sat a few minutes, I'd probably have been happier and would have kept riding the regular stuff. I'm not used to falling.![]()
Yeah, I think Steve wanted to show us the hardest stuff. A little bit would have been fun. Just that - not so fun.
There's harder?!?! Count me out of that for awhile.

After Yellow's hill abuse on Saturday and then the Rockville fiasco, I'm actually looking forward to today when we practice S&Mwhich means "shot and movie" day in our household. I get my shot about midafternoon and then go home, tuck myself in bed, Bubba fixes me a nice bland dinner (yum) and we watch a movie. With luck, I'll only get a very low grade fever and momentary nausea. Tonight it means that my knees will get plenty of Vitamin I and rest. Wow, it sounds heavenly!
By the way, I'm especially disappointed that I missed those cookies. That's two times in a row.
Well, it sounds like I missed out on an eventful day at Rockville! I am glad everybody is okay. You know, next time you should take a nurse with you.
I just got registered on the forum and am still trying to figure out how this all works. So, please be patient with by ignorance. Sarah informed me that "petunia" was still available, so I had to act fast. You know how popular that nickname is!
Hey, it's Nurse Jenny! You can see pictures of her on one of Mt Diablo posts. Jo and V managed to take some nice shots of her though V's (or Thom's) are rather foggy.

Welcome to the board petunia! Don't worry - we were all newbies once too.....
V: so sorry about the fall hun....nothing worse than a hard ride, lousy weather and then a fall! I think a martini with strawberries is in order to speed the healing!PS: You never mentioned you were into Cyclocross V!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
