My friend and I rode the ROS with a club last year. The club we belong to this year, closer to home and I am now Corresponding Secretary never heard of it until I mentioned it. We are in the process of putting the ride together for this year. I did register our ride on the ROS site.

I which there was a sticker with the logo available, even for purchase to give out to the riders. If there is anything like this available and I am missing it?

SHouldn't be too hard to get labels and make one and print 'em out.
Tornadoes kept us from having a small one last year. (There were still five folks who came out ... ) This year I am sure we will get a bigger turnout, unfortunately (because of the cycling fatalities of the past year, including the one with the notorious ringtone downloading Jenifer).

I just emailed our local group to see if there is anyone interested here in Baton Rouge. Hopefully so. Having been nearly squished by a car myself, this hits home. There have been a number of cyclists killed here in BR. I hope we can get it up and running.

    Hey JoAnn,

The Dallas board unfortunately doesn't have stickers available. But as Genoz suggested, there's no reason you can't get or print some yourself. The board allows the use of it's logo in any tasteful design, with the understanding that it is not to be for sale. Here's how the Ride in Kailua-Kona Hawaii will be using the logo on armbands:

I'll soon have the logo on posters I'll place in bike shops, health clubs, univ./colleges, etc. And here's what we did in Grand Rapids MI last year and for this year. Not the logo, but the use of the name in a funeral flag, styled after an actual funeral flag used in a motorcade. (please note our lovely Assistant, shockingly in the buff, who was sooo instrumental in helping to make these)

We had a local bike shop loan us 100 std. bike flag sticks, that were returned the next day. We attached our funeral flags and gave them out to any rider who wanted one.

And fishdr, my offer stands, if you need my help in starting a Ride in Baton Rouge, let me know, or if you'd like me to send a follow up email for you, please email me. I believe they did hold a Ride there last year.

I love the flag idea....my husband is more computer savvy than I am, so if I do not go that route, I will look into printing stickers myself.

Thank you so much for all this wonderful info.

Thanks Mark - I'll let you know if I need any help. I just recently moved here, so I'm not all that connected with the bike clubs and the goings on just yet.
