Denise - I'm really serious now. Don't screw around with pleurisy. You will just keep inflamming that tissue. I had a friend with pluerisy that ended up taking months to heal because she wouldn't back off and kept doing too much too soon.

Remember, you only lose 1% of your cardiovascular fitness if you take one week off - completely. After that it goes much faster. So, take it easy. Talk to your coach and get some feedback from him/her.

Honestly, if it was me, I'd take a week off.

    REST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know that you will get better faster if you just bite the bullet and rest....

You can do it...take strength from all of the people that rest all of the time. If they can do it, you can do it!

Denise- I have to second both Wahine and RnR, pleurisy is nothing to mess with- take some time off, visualize the inflammed tissue healing up and you flying thru your training, honestly visualizing what you want now will likely work a lot better than forcing your body to do it at the moment.
Nothing like the power of the mind at a time like this
Just focus that power on healing would ya not on rubbing the heck out of that poor inflammed pleura

Thanks girls. ANd yeah, I got the hint from my lungs yesterday LOUD AND CLEAR!! I thought I was getting better, but apparently I'm not. I spent the better part of lastnight hacking in lieu of sleeping...
So I'm going to get that chest x ray this morning and call the doctor. I think it's time for the hardcore stuff.

Well, I feel better after reading that. I hope you do by the end of this week. We're going to hold you to that oath.

Yep. We're holdin' you to it. Because it will not matter that you're an hour faster on the bike if you have to be pulled out of the lake when you can't breath on The Big Day. You've trained hard and well, now use that discipline to let your body do its work. (((((Denise)))))
