    woohoo - breakthrough?

I thought I had it last Saturday but went to the pool again to see if I could repeat it: I swam almost 20 minutes continuous freestyle today. I only needed breastroke when the lane was blocked (City pool is busy at nights) Can't remember the distance, probably not that much, but definitely over 500m -

I slowed down, calmed down, and concentrated on rotation on my breathing stroke so I have a nice long time to get air.

    Yeah.

Way to go! Just think how far you will be able to go with no interruptions like lane blockages! 500+m is great. Swimming can be calming (for me)that way, once you get into a rhythm you can just put your head down and go...stroke stroke stroke breathe..stroke stroke stroke breathe..and repeat

Yeah but now my coach tells me I am too low in the water. I need to speed up - not an easy one.

Not legs hanging in the water, I'm the equivalent of a submarine. Actually a submarine banana, he told me to keep my tummy tight and prescribed dryland exercises - yikes! situps!

    That's great!

    Congratulations on your break through!
