    Thanks for checking that out for me. It has been only 2 weeks since I've really started monitoring my calories. Before that I was just trying to be "good" with no success. The scale finally budged this morning! Just .4 lbs, so technically I"m still up a pound from where I was 2 weeks ago, but still, I'm happy.

    Good job Limewave! You make me tired too

    I'm hanging at 152 - a 3 pound loss so far. I need to get out the tape measure again because pants are getting looser and my legs are feeling tighter. I also need to start counting calories again. So kick me in the ar$e folks - summer is around the corner (ok, maybe around the corner and down the street, but it's coming!).

    Hey all!

    Just over 3 weeks ago, I hit my highest weight since I started biking at 158.9 lbs. (I'm 5'4"). That same day, I made a decision to log 3 days of eating healthy and balanced. That was a Fri, Sat and Sun. Then Monday came around and I decided to extend my goal by the week since weekdays are easier for me anyway. Then I got to Friday and decided that I wanted one more good weekend under my belt. By the following Monday, I was already noticing how much better I felt. My moods were even, my skin improved, my energy levels up...and all this while nursing a back injury that hit me the day after I saw that high weight! I was on a roll!!

    Now, it's been about 3.5 weeks and I'm down 5 lbs. I have only ridden once during this time due to the back problem, but yet I feel 500% better.

    Anyway, my back feels much, much better today, so I am going to start ramping up the activity again. I plan to keep on my eating plan....so I'd like to join in the check-in here if y'all will have me.

    Assuming that my back continues to improve, I have plans to complete my first mountain century on May 5th. My goal is to see how much weight I can drop between now and then (safely, of course).

    I'm taking Silver's advice and logging everything I eat. I'm convinced that looking at what you eat is critical to keeping a sober perspective.

    Logging everything I eat forces me to think about everything I put into my mouth. I'm not a huge eater but I'm amazed at the 100's of useless calories I can consume for no apparent reason.... Right now, I have my food log on share at sparkpeople and that makes me even more cautious about what I eat because peple can read it.

    Good idea about a food log- I haven't done that for a while- it does help- thinking back on the last few days -hmmm not so good, loads of empty calories- crazy thing is I think many of the times I eat snack food (yesterday I had 4 count'em 4 packets of sesame snaps) i was actually just thirsty!- I don't drink enough water- I find it hard, I was making and drinking a good amount of "ginger tea" guesss I should get back to that- I think it would limit my snacking.
    does anyone else have trouble staying hydrated? What do you try to help?

    I am TERRIBLE at drinking enough. I have a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of water when I take my vitamins and that's it. I often don't drink all day. I'll usually have a 2nd glass around suppertime. I need to find ways to make myself drink. I have several water bottles on my desk. One is full but I don't drink it. Maybe I should buy some of that crystal light stuff (single serving size). Maybe I'd drink it if it was flavoured?? I don't know. Thanks for briging this up. I need to work on this.

    Here's a virtual kick for you, Dar. <<<<boot>>>>

    Ooh, those ones have pointy toes...

    3-4 months until swimsuit season. I am focussed on doing my upper body weights and my ab work 3-4 times a week (I try to alternate one each day.) It doesn't take tooooo long so even if I'm busy, I can usually squeeze it in before I go to bed. Cardio on the other hand is much tougher. Once I can ride everyday.... Sigh....

    BMO3 - Thanks for the advice, I'm uping my calories a little bit to see if that helps out!!
