    A Cow Giving Birth...

Or was it a llama giving birth or a crazed bull?

That's the sound your hub makes when it's seizing up. It made for an interesting ride. So glad this didn't happen to MP yesterday on her 200 K, but rather today. It was absolutely bizarre.

We still had a lovely ride up Sonoma Mountain Rd. We decided not to do Trinity in light of the angry bull. And since it was a fun ride (not a training ride) we stopped for coffee and a brownie at a bakery.

Definitely want to do this again.

Oh Kim - the section we did today wasn't bad, except that section where the road had dropped five or six feet. That was fun riding. Not crazy hard, but it did not include Trinity!

Actually we walked the dropped section. I'd have tried it on my mountain bike.

Hmm, I was wondering how today's ride went. Something tells me there was a story there. Maybe two or three.

The story is that Sonoma Mountain Road HATES my bike. Last Saturday my chain broke 1/4 way up. Yesterday, the sound that started coming from the freehub on descents was absolutely terrifying. It took some sleuthing to figure out what it was. Observant Thom noticed the chain got very slack at the top, and the sound was like the worst brake rub you have heard - when the brakes were not being used.

It was very disconcerting, made me creep down the hills, and cut the ride short. But you know, it was a super fun day and it was probably good to do just the part of the ride before my legs started hurting. Because they would have hurt on Trinity.

We'll do this ride again some time. I don't think it's going to be that bad.

See MP your poor bike was trying to tell you it was tired after Saturday and wantd a rest.
Glad to hear you girls had a great ride even with the tired bike. My bike says its still tired today so Im going out for lunch with a friend instead of riding just to keep it happy.

TH - I think your bike would also like a spa treatment.

LOL - yes it would and it mentioned something about a holiday. It really is a lazy bicycle.
