Here's some of the stuff that I am digging right now that you might like:

    Susan Tedesci- bluesy
    Kathleen Edwards- alt.country
Lucinda Williams-alter.country (her most recent stuff and live stuff gets really rough, but Car Wheels is a safe bet to see if you like her)
Sarah Harmer- ranges from singer/songwriter in earlier stuff to really fun funky bluegrassy stuff on her recent album
Rocky Votolato- new artist, laidback singer/songwriter
Jack Johnson (for a chillin vibe)
the new Springsteen Seeger sessions c.d. (AMAZING!)

Most of this stuff is pretty laid back and won't get you up and jumping. For some livelier music:

    - Rodrigo y Gabriela- spanish flamenco/heavy metal-inspired classical guitar duet. effin amazing

actually i don't really listen to faster music. if i listen to music i like to kinda just relax into it.

Vanesa Mae - she plays a violin but an electric one and she turns the music of Beethoven, BAch and the gang into pop music. My dad also likes her, and he doesn't even like classical music.

Gipsy Kings - bem, bem, Maria
(Spanish music... "best known for bringing Rumba Catalana, a pop-oriented version of traditional flamenco music to mainstream audiences, a kind of Rumba Flamenca. Many songs of the Gipsy Kings fit social dances, such as Samba, Salsa and Rumba.")

Ooh I love Vanessa Mae! I haven't listened to any of her discs in so long...

I absolutely adore her version of the Butterfly Lovers. So gorgeous.

    Going out on a limb...

....as if my membership wasn't out on a limb already

Songs of Northern Exposure...the old TV show. Half of them are obscure, but will get your heart rate up...

Can you believe I was 43 before I bought my first Grateful Dead or Leonard Skynard? Now I can't get enough... for that folksy side.
