    Jeannie,

I'm so sorry to hear about your accident! What terrible luck. I appreciate your SO letting us know.

Although it may not be much comfort at the moment, after fracturing my pelvis in three places in April '05 and having surgery (6" plate, four pins in my right ileum), I was able to ride again that July (slowly), and completed a 50 mile event the following September. I also began hiking that winter. In '06 I hiked 18 miles in one day in the Grand Canyon, started mountain biking, and started running! So, never, ever give up even when recovery is slow and painful; the body has amazing healing properties.

I won't lie and say I'm 100% back to where I was before my accident. I have little tight areas and occasional pain that may be with me forever, but even given this "handicap", it's amazing what I can do. Keep your chin up and we will all be here sending positive, healing thoughts your way.

    Big hugs to you!

Jeannie, Sending positive thoughts your way. Time to rest and let your body heal. I hope that each sunrise warms your heart and takes away a little more of the pain.
