Re the tandem cake topper. I saw some bendies in a bike shop the other day, and one of them was a tandem. You know Bendies...the little figures made of flexible something or other, painted brightly? They have sports players and etc. My son had some when he was younger, but I don't think I could locate them to get a name brand.

One of the professors in my Division has a son who is a Cat 1 racer. He got married last weekend & they used a tandem bike as a table decoration- she found one on e-bay. It was metal, with working cables, pedals, et cetera.
I think she paid about $35 for it.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
