I hate when shorts bunch up!
I think the moral of the story with shorts is that you just have to keep trying until you find what works for you. I personally love my Pearl Izumi's. But there are lots of different brands and styles out there.

The stitching on the Performance Gel Shorts left a trail of little stitch bruises on my rear last time I wore them. Never again! There are better shorts out there IMO.
If you like PI's, wear them! There isn't one right short for everyone!Most days in life don't stand out, But life's about those days that will...
