I am new to riding and to this website which is AWESOME!! I have signed up to do a century with Team in Training on June 4th. Need someone to ride with during the week. My husband is also doing the century but much faster than me. Is there anyone out there who may live in the Inland Empire and be interested in getting together for mid-week rides? . . Rancho Cucamonga, Alta Loma, Upland, Ontario, Fontana, Chino, Claremont, San Dimas . . ??? Also, any tips for completing this century?? I'm a bit overwhelmed!! Still learning basic road skills, how to shift right, how to clip in and out of my pedals, etc. I have done 4 marathons through TNT since 2004 but I am new to riding. The cardio is there but I am not a "natural" at riding. Hoping it gets easier with practice. . . I'm luvin the riding but I will say, for me, much much harder than running!!! I have a new and healthy respect for the bike! Thanks ladies

I also live in RC, but I have this thing called a job it's In El Monte and I do 9-hour shift, so unless you like waking up real early. I do get every other Friday off
Blatant plug : have you considered the local club, Cycling Connection (www,cyclingconnection.org), We are a friendly, if odd, bunch (I am the secretary) We usually meet at Day Creek and Baseline at 8:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, except for 2/24 - we're doing a beach ride on the Santa Ana Trail- PM(private message) me if you're interested. I won;t be there, but I can get you directions to the start. it's 46 flat miles
Century, which one are you doing? You've got plenty of time. I would get to where you do 50 miles rides on consecutive days without major problems. Just start working on increasing your mileage i,e, if you're doing 20 mile ride, start doing 25, them 30, etc.
You also may want to wander over the "getting to know you" thread. we're quite the inquisitive bunch...

I'm not in IE, but wanted to direct you and your husband to the Bike Forums So Cal regional forum. We have a great group and we get together for rides all the time and would be happy to have you join us.
