OT: You know, it's weird that you can see a cultural difference in bikeframes. Like the frame you are showing would simply be 'not done' here in the netherlands. Nobody builds these kind of frames anymore and if you have such a frame it is labeled 'old' or 'old fashioned'. But they are still good bikes, I have a steel one myself (click for pixie here), it had been hanging in a corner for 10 years at my lbs (I paid 350 usd for the frame). He bought it once but never sold it. I use it for training purposes and it is not going away because nothing beats that frame in durability.
Mimosa, you are right, it is old fashioned. He designed it that way. it's a steel touring bike. As a matter of fact, he's going to do 200 km on saturday; and it turns out that one of the mechanics building the bike might go on the ride too.
There is a certain element, at least here in Seattle who really love the retro bike look.
and I like YOUR bike a lot, it is very sweet.
