    Smile Wanted: Clever Team Name

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I'm putting together a team for the MS Bike Tour in Connecticut. We are mostly single middle-aged riders of all levels and abilities. I want to give us a fun, clever, laugh-out-loud team name, but I need the help of some very clever people. Anyone want to take a stab at giving us a name??

While I'm on the subject, if any of you are interested in joining the team, let me know! I'll let you know when the team is posted on the official website so that you can sign up. And we'll also be getting together for training rides when spring gets here!

    Thanks!

The funniest letter of the alphabet is P, a name with 3 P's
would be funny; like Potbelly Packing Pagans, or Persnickety Pretentious Pedallers
    or Practically Pathetic Pedallers.

My last team name was Bonzo Boeing Bikers.
    Mimi Team TE BIANCHISTA
for six tanks of gas you could have bought a bike.

All hilarious team names, you guys. Divingbiker, I often hear that witch-on-a-bicycle music from The Wizard of Oz playing in my head when I'm flying down a hill.

My sister-in-law is a radiologist and she got together with her female colleagues to play golf. They called themselves Docs Without Rocks.

    So, far, so good!

    Let's see ...
The plastic surgery one might offend some of the more sensitive members.
The team will be mixed gender, so I can't go with the Spinster name (although I love it!)
Docs, we are not, and as mentioned before, some members do have rocks!
I do sort of like Pathetic Pedallers, though!

Here are some others on my list:

    Team Anti-Gravity
    Shake & Rattle Rollers
    Riding from the Reaper
The Hartford Wheelers (instead of Whalers)
    Team Saddlesore
    Team Re-Cycle
    Team FOG (Freaking Old Group)
    FACT (Fat *** Cycling Team)
    Wrinkle Riders
    Past Perfect
    Cycling Geezers

or Bucket Connecticism Rout? or M-Bucket Science Icon Trout? or MIT Scenic Bucket Contour?

I think the anagram idea is great. You could have loose letters somehow and do like on the John Cleese series "Faulty Towers", changing the letters around each day.

The wrinkle riders idea also triggered an association: Anybody remember the book "A wrinkle in time"? It's sci-fi for kids. I think I read it when my Mom was on the purchasing committee for the children's library -- she used us as consultants. Anyway, a time wrinkle is (as I recall) an instantaneous way to do space and/or time travel. So as Wrinkle Riders you could be taking time travel short-cuts.

Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
