To those of you in upstate NY - keep the snow shovels handy! I can't imagine having the amount of snow you have right now. We'd be out of school for a month - and that's only if it stopped snowing now and began melting. Hang in there!

Strangely, we still have little to no snow here in upstate NY where we are, about 45 minutes southeast of Albany (a 2 1/2 hour drive north of NYC). And nothing but clear sunny skies in the forecast. There's about 2" of old snow on the ground from last week, but nothing much at all. I think those big snows were further north and west from us in NY state.

Lisa - the view out your windows sounds much like the one outside mine. A little snow left on the ground, sunny but very cold.
So...without having to actually look it up, where is Oswego? Near Buffalo? I hear they have 6 ft. and more on the way...

Oswego is north of Syracuse, on the eastern side of Lake Ontario.
I posted links to a couple of updated articles in this thread.

Broke my personal record yesterday (didn't ride M or Tu or Wed) commuting in at one below. Everything was kivvered up - the goggles worked!! and the jumping jacks before I started kept my fingers from ever getting cold. (Pretty sure that's what it was, 'cause I didn't do 'em today 'cause I've got underwire on - you want to talk about interesting injuries! - and I went through that mile of chilled digits.)
Today I stuffed a scarf in around my neck 'cause it sort of almost got chilly there yesterday. I noticed I was sore there after I got here, and there's this big ol' red, tender splotch and a half on my throat. No fabric description on the stupid thing!!! (The suggestiosn are cashmere... or maybe I just need to wash it 'cause I didn't think to do that like I do other clothes...)
3'c rain rain, snow melting so the roads are safe again, but i began to freeze after 90 mins-prob as the rain was seeping in-then met a bloke who started to half wheel me,WHY WHY!!!i was at 96% hr and going as fast as i bloody could.IDIOT.in the end i peeled off,too too much this time of year,i find anyway when its this cold i do not function well.must must increase my body fat %!!!
