    my therapy

Therapists and such say to do this, but I never have. Here it goes.
What I love about my JJ.
    1. He has never, ever asked me to be anybody but me!!! This is most important to me. When I quit work to stay home he said ok. When I said I want to go back to school; he said ok. When I said I want to go back in the Army he said OK. For that alone I love him.

    2. Even in our worst time and we split with evil words. He came over to kiss his kids good night. He called to say, he's paid the bills. He dropped by groceries. He told people, "You will not treat my ex- wife that way." I had to have him back...

    3. He loves from his spirit, not his mind. He was sent to me. I believe that. I love him because, God loved me enough to send JJ.

I know just what you mean. My Mom is like that. And she lives with me.
Its never clean enough, the kids are never good enough. The food is not healthy enough.
But to connect it to earlier. My JJ will always and respectfully put her in place.

Mr CBC is supportive of all my endeavors and puts up with the panic that I sometimes get because of them (student, exams. Need I say more)

I had to resurrect this thread, as something occured to me last night...

We did not do anything for V'alentines day except have my mom over for dinner as she was alone. We did not exchange presents or anything--we do things for each other on a daily basis, spend alot of time together, and have a loving relationship, but my DH just doesn't do special occasions. It used to bother me alot, but after 16 years, it is just normal for us.

BUT, at 11:00 last night, my veterinarian husband stripped down to his t shirt in our barn (get your mind out of the gutter...!!) in 5 degree temps, and did a rectal exam on my really old pony, released gas from his belly with a needle (really!!) tubed him with water and literally saved his life. He never complained or crabbed - he did it because it was the right thing to do for this creature that I love....

Can you top that for a present????

WOW - thats a good man

Altho I of course am partial to my man being the BEST of the best, I don't think I could see him doing any rectal anything to one of our dogs............

This was one of the most moving things I've read on this thread.

It's also one of the things I love most about my dh/so/bf: he manages to "do the right thing". See, I even have to put it in quotation marks, but he truly and simply believes in doing his duty. He follows his conscience, and doesn't make a fuss about it. Which may sound kind of boring but is a rare and precious trait.

There are many, many things I love about my husband, obviously, or we wouldn't be together after over 21 years of marriage....but one thing that is especially lovable is the many things he does to make my life easier. He is retired and I work full-time, so he does a lot around the house so we can have fun and spend time together on weekends rather than just doing chores and errands all the time, as we had to when we were both working. This weekend his parents are coming for a visit, and he did ALL the cooking for their visit already so that I wouldn't have to stress about it at all.

    What a gem!
