My honeybear is always there for me and anyone else who needs it, lending a helping hand, asking for nothing in return. He loves me, even when I just get back from a ride that I didn't do so well on, all grumpy and mopey. He knows, almost instinctively, when I need hugs & kisses, and says the right things at the right moments. Most of all, he never stops giving his love to the world (and to me in particular) and I'm a darn lucky person to be able to love him in return!

last year on Valentines day I wrote 100 things I love about my Greg! At first I thought it would be hard to do but it wasn't! He was so surprised. One of the top 10 on my list is that he loves animals. Any man that loves animals is a good soul! I can be an animal sometimes to and he loves me...

    Can't resist...

First there's that awesome, handsome smile that makes the world a better place, and those bright eyes. He's wonderfully sensitive and sensible too. He's always there to tell me I'm beautiful when I need it (and when I don't!). He's also very respectful. He has a good sense of humour, and he's tremendously funny, to me anyway. He stays just ahead of me so I can draft off him - such a strong cyclist, especially on hills - but he's also getting better at accepting to take off and do his thing when I just feel like riding quietly. He works so, so hard, never gives up, just keeps plugging away at those immense books he has to read for school. He openly shares his emotions. When I have to travel, he misses me, but doesn't make me feel guilty of leaving. He shares my affection for the plush "family" that lives in our bedroom, and thought Happy Feet was the movie of the year. He's a wonderful athlete and ... well, has the body that goes with it. He love to cuddle, and knows the importance of hugging me when he just walks by. The few minutes we get to spend together, talking about small things and smiling to each other, before falling asleep every night make a good day out of every day.

Oh wow. Where to start? My SO is the kindest, most giving man I have ever met. We have been together almost 7 years & he makes me feel complete. He loves what I love & he is always there for me. I stand at the window each morning when he leaves for work & wave to him, then find myself watching for him to return in the evening (if I'm not on the trainer ). He is, without a doubt, my best friend & my life's love. He is patient with me & supports me in whatever I want to do and gives me the freedom to be myself without feeling threatened (something very important to me because it was lacking in my marriage to my ex.).

    I love you, Michael!

Mr. Silver is so awesome! He is so encouraging of me and my athletic pursuits. I've put him through a lot and he has stuck with me through it all! I love you!

Mr. Meaux is fantastic because...he loves me, he has one of the most beautiful smiles of any person, he thinks that I am the best person in the whole world and would not want to spend time with anyone else, he loves our cats and my crazy cat who hates him, he looks hot on a bike, he encourages me in all of my adventures, I know he would follow me to the ends of the earth, he cleans out the cat box and the kitchen (most of the time), he never ever ever gives up on me, he sometimes cleans the living room and makes it all cozy when I have a crappy day at work, he always rides with me and tells me that I can get up that hill even when I don't think I can, he thinks I'm the smartest, wittiest, person he's ever met and that he's the luckiest boy in the world to be with me, we fight over who is luckier to be with whom (play fights), he tells me he loves me before he gets off the phone with me or before we go to bed, he took a whole week off work without getting paid when my dad died, he has beautiful eyes and SUPER long eyelashes, he is UBER patient with me, he listens to me and has good input, when someone else is mean to me-I am always the right one, he admits that I'm right if we've had a fight--but later, he makes me laugh ridiculously hard, he loves me...okay, this reply is getting ridiculous, that's just what I had off the top of my head.

Is it just us, or do we just get along better with our SOs than the average run of cyclists, never mind people in general?

I know when I look at some other cycling sites, some of the men (and women, for that matter) have such awful stories to tell about their significant others. It never ceases to amaze me, unless these people exaggerate in order to lessen their own misdeeds (which is probably the case).

At any rate, my husband is simply the best person around. Calm, dignified, loving, kind, helpful, sexy. Did I mention intelligent? I like to stop and smell the roses, and he's one of my roses.

I'd love to participate in this dicussion, but I fear that my 42yo bf is determined to be an unhappy person regardless of how many wonderful things come into his life.

I sometimes take my DH for granted, but the bottom line is that in 16 years of marriage I have never heard him tell untruth to anyone, I have never seen him treat another person badly or without respect. Not without faults, as we all are, but he is kind and gentle and always there for me. He paid prep school tuition and then private college tuition for a child who is not his own biologically, and has never done anything but encourage and support that child and me.

I like the idea of writing 100 things that I love about him that someone mentioned. I will get started now for Valentine's day....

I love my Tomislav because he is very responsible person but knows how to enjoy life... cause he likes to make me surprises - he knows I like surprises... cause he'll go with me ice skating although he doesn't like it... cause he gives me a kiss every morning, when he thinks I'm still sleeping... cause I enjoy loving him
