    Post Physical Project- HELP!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so I am doing my senior project on cycling... I need some ideas.

I have to do a physical project... PHYSICAL... nothing like powerpoint or anything like that. I talked to my teacher about bringing my bike in (Since i upgraded it ) and he said that will be fine... to later then say that it might not be enough for a good grade.

One of the guys at my bike shop said take some cardboard, and draw a bike out of pasta noodles.......

Anyone else have any ideas... something that i can PHYSICALLY MAKE concerning cycling? I need HELP!

    Thank you very much!!!

I think I need more details about your assignment: what subject is this project for, and what are the expectations? I'd be glad to brainstorm a few ideas, given more information.

If your project is something you present to others, rather than just stand up and leave - why don't you take some of your bike apart and then put it back together for them?

Ah that would take too long and I have other stuff to present.

It is for Eng. 4 (HS)
Just anything I can physically build with my hands that has to do with cycling.

How about building a bicycle wheel?

There's a book by Jobst Brand, called The Bicycle Wheel.

A spoked wheel is a good project. I learned from the Bicycling Magazine manual, (lotsa pics )

Its not hard once you get the hang of it, then you can brag to your friends you did it
Ride it, break it, fixit, ride it...

    too cute Sadie!

why couldn't you take your bike in, break the chain and repair it?

    or change a flat tire?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

A spin on TREK 420 and CorsairMac: Get some old chains from the lbs. and clean them. For you project, use a chain breaker to take apart some links, and reconnect to make jewelry for your classmates--bracelets, necklaces, etc. You'll be popular, maybe start a new fad, and get a good grade all in a matter of minutes.

    Good luck!
