<snort> Nope, you don't. But you can still lead the ride!

    Rainy ride report goes here.

It was raining pretty hard in the East Bay when I woke up, kept raining as I got ready and through the drive. By the time I arrived at Woodside, found the public lot and rode down to the bakery it had stopped.

Five women were there. I thought "cool", they came out in the rain after all.

It was the Mello Velo, our easy and/or beginner ride.

We waited a little, I rode back up to the lot to see if there were any last minute arrivals for the Single Gals ride. Wooo hoo, mini hill repeats.

None, so at about 10:15 I decided to ride with the Melo gals and we left.

Still not raining. As we rode out it drizzled a little bit off and on, rained some but never real hard. We turned around at 92, just rain, stop, drizzle, stop, rain, stop, repeat.

Wind picked up but I was warm in my wool undershirt and the smartwool socks from my Secret Sister (If that sounds like a wool ad, it is ).

I was glad I brought the MTB because I offered to sweep the last rider I slowed...then dropped to my lowest gear....then at one point I was cheerfully saying encouragements while doing one legged drills .... while climbing....super slow but a great workout

This had been her longest ride ever and if you're lurking, you did great!

Menace is happy, filthy and covered in mud as a MTB should be.

So am I (no fenders) but this was fun. Now we both deserve a nice bath and hot cocoa.

    bump!

You say you don't have time to date? You say all you do is ride, eat, sleep, read TE? Well cheer up my cycling friend because now there is Velo Singles for Girls ride presented by Velo Girls

The route has changed for July to the East Bay. Meet at the Peet's Coffee at 3258 Lakeshore @ 10am (Oakland - near Lake Merritt) and ride to Alameda and back -- 20 miles - flat. Coffee at Peets post-ride! RSVP information on the calendar at www.velogirls.com

Velogirls plan to repeat this ride on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Check the calendar as the location may change.

Also, don't fret my straight but not narrow friends there is a co-ed Single Cyclists ride on the first Saturday of the month. Check the calendar for details.

Reliable sources tell me that on the last coed ride the men outnumbered the women by about 2 to 1 and reliable sources said they were some really cool guys.

Is it on the VG calendar?

I don't see the July East Bay ride on the Velo Girls calendar. Am I missing something?

It's there. Sat July 7th for the co-ed ride, Sat July 14th for the non-coed ride.

If you're bi double your chances of a cycling date and go to both
