I just saw on bikejournal that you'd joined, Susan. Welcome to the fray over there. Now you too can get into the arguments about indoor/outdoor miles, a not to be missed event in your life.

Saving Susan from the indoor debate

"Of course indoor miles don't count." says the outdoor purist

"Yes they do, I'm on bike, sweating they count." says the snowbound rider.

"But you don't go any where." OP

"The weather is too crummy for me to get out, they count." SR

"But your front wheel doen't turn." OP

    "I'm counting them. " SR

    "I'm not counting them." OP

"Ha... my indoor miles don't count. They multiply." retorts Veronica.

LOL - I dont read much at the BJ forum but I did read some of those posts when they were debating indoor/outdoor and it provided me with a good belly laugh for the day.

Hey watch it. I AM actually one of those. Because it's MY journal and that's the way I want it to be.

Thanks SK. However, I don't plan to participate in (or even read) the forums over there. I'll just log my miles.

39 miles yesterday with two of my very fast girlfriends. They took pity on me every now and then and waited for me. But they keep inviting me back.... Go figure.

I guess I'm a purist. I only count outdoor miles. You may not see me on there until March...

If I'm on a bike, the miles count I finally got my fenders on my mtb, reattached my computer mount (technical difficulties from a new handlbar) and thought I was ready to ride. Thermometer said 11 degrees and the flags were whipping in the wind. I wussed out. I figure you work harder for trainer miles so why shouldn't they count?

good question, Dar. I feel like i should DOUBLE count my inside miles!
they are torture. Your muscles get the workout, even your bike gets the workout, so why aren't people counting them? because you're not moving forward in space? well then, orient your bike pointing eastward and you
WILL be moving forward in space with the rest of the planet.

Yea, yea... that's how the arguments go over there, too

I don't think most people post their routes. You get to pick what columns you want on your journal. I figure my routes are kinda a waste of time, though I've posted some of the nice loops on my blog.
