Most memorable moment on my bike: My first real ride with my now husband and my BFF. It was 21 miles long and I did great until the last mile. We stopped, I unclipped, then we took a short turn and stopped again. I failed to unclip and fell over onto the pavement. A small scrape and a bruised ego.

Most fun I've ever had on my bike: Any day riding in the wine country of Sonoma Valley. I will always be a NorCal Girl!!

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: "I'm not scared."

Most memorable moment on my bike: doing my first metric century in over 15 years. I used to ride, somehow got out of it for 15 years or so, and am now falling back in love with it again.

Most fun ever had on a bike? My gentleman friend and I somehow stuffed everything we needed into my Miata, including the bikes on the bike rack, and went camping for a long weekend up on a barrier island in the Florida panhandle. It was awesome!
    Livin the life!

Nice learning about you, BB. I lived in Clearwater back in the early 90's and am getting ready to move back to FL in May, heading to New Smyrna Beach this time. Can't wait to ride year round.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I don't like to lie and I don't like being lied to. Honesty is the best policy.

Most memorable moment on my bike: I was six years old, my parents bought me my first bike. It was a Schwinn (unknow model), baby blue in color and it was a boy's bike. I remember placing my left foot on the pedal, both hands on the handlebars and pushing off. I was filled with the feeling of freedom and adventure. I remember it like it was yesterday and when I begin each bike ride I have the same feeling.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Every time I get on my bike is a memorable and exciting.

    another one

    Real name: Wanda

Where do you live? Lincoln, Nebraska.

Explanation of your handle: At one time I was thinking of legally changing my name to Mom - what with all my kids friends calling me that, and all - and I spend as much time as I can on my bike.

Explanation of your avatar: I'm lazy and I haven't gotten around to finding/creating one yet

Age (general or specific): Late 40's.

    Occupation: Indexer, Medical Secretary

Favorite bike: The one I'm on at the moment. (I can be fickle)

What's in your stable? Walter, the 1978 Raleigh 10-speed (he needs some repair work, poor baby)
William, the new Sun EZ Sport recumbent.

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 34 or so coming down a nice hill by Nebraska City on Walter. We were coming home from a 2-day mini tour and I had full panniers on at the time. I probably should have been scared, as the cross wind was giving the ride some zest, but I have a pretty high guts/brains ratio.
I have hopes of finding a faster hill with William some day soon.

Another picture of yourself or your ride? Some recent ones are at:
    http://lincolndietrichs.org/mopac1.html

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: That's classified.

Most memorable moment on my bike:
    Is this a test?
OK, either it was the moment I realized that I could go 'most anywhere on a bike, so maybe I should.
OR it was the time I decided to combine bicycling and walking my doberman. (That guts/brains ratio, again. It worked for us, but don't try it yourself) After that we went many happy/exploratory miles together.
OR my Dad giving me freedom by showing my snotty pre-teen self how to fix a flat - the job needed a wrench or two back then.
OR the time DH & I were riding along talking, and I got a mouthful of used spider web. DH says he's never heard me make THAT combination of sounds before or since.
OR my wobbly first ride home on William. I really wanted to ride him home from the bike shop, so I did.
    So many choices...

Most fun ever had on a bike?
    Muliple choice again...
That glorious summer that my friends & I spent going to summer school & taking the long way home (from driver's ed.).
OR a certain fall ride just as the foiliage was at its explosive finest.
OR the afore-mentioned mini-tour with DH.
OR the ride I'm on at the moment (I said I could be fickle.) Actually I'm not riding at all for a while, not while there is a layer of ice on everything.

I know. We're spoiled. And it's only gotten better and better in the last several years.

I'm reduced to complaining about the angle that the trails cross the intersecting roads and those @#$%% polite drivers who stop and wave me across when what I really want is to catch my breath. Life is hard....

Where do you live? Portland, Oregon

Explanation of your handle: Uh, I have no imagination??

Explanation of your avatar: I need one!

Age (general or specific): 39 (today :-()

    Occupation: Commercial Claim Adjuster

Favorite bike: I'm a newbie, so I have just the one: Redline Conquest cross (and might I say, I'm loving it??)

What's in your stable? The Redline and my city bike, an old Peugot (gift from my boyfriend...awwww)

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 41.7mph on Thompson Rd in the west hills in Portland....as much as I'd love to say it was on a flat-out, it was downhill as you've all guessed...

Another picture of yourself or your ride? how do I hook a photo?

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Mmmm...I really have an issue w/lying, so I mostly do white lies

Most memorable moment on my bike:
When I first got the big chainring and could actually pedal on the downhill...whoo hoo! So, basically any downhill. Ok, that and the first time I got on the bike and fell over in my clips, bike landing on right knee, spraining it, not knowing it and doing a 22 mile trail ride. BAD memory, that one!

Most fun ever had on a bike?
I'm so new, but downhill again...and I love the country rides on the flats where I can really pedal hard and get lots of fresh air. __________________
