    Thanks Mimi,
I saw a few still pictures last month in L.A.'s West Magazine, of all places.

And in case you hadn't seen this... here's Barbaro out of his cast. His condition and repaired foot is sadly horrific... a testament both to the severity of the injury and his remarkable courage to survive. His other laminitic hoof is still encased in a bandage, but it is growing back, slowly but surely.

Barbaro looks VERY alive. And that's what's important I think. He could be far worse.

Wow, I had not seen any of those pictures. Barbaro is VERY lucky to be alive. He is mess. Hopefully, he stays alive. There are no absolutes with injuries like he suffered.

Boy, poor Barbaro looks like a train wreck. But at least he's up an moving. That's a good thing.

well, they had almost died because the water was so high. they didn't know it had receded to a safer depth.
And yes, then they DO have to be persuaded... sometimes even to put their foot into a 2" puddle.

That was very stirring. Great choice of music.

I, too, was thinking of the Chincoteague ponies while I watched it.

    Thanks for sharing.

that was so cool! My husband and I were cheering as they made it across. But the music was a little cheesy

I heard yesterday that Barbaro's laminitis is back.....there had been hope that he could leave the hospital but not now. Haven't seen an update for today.
