I'm still at zero for the year as well. Looks like this will be the inspiration to get the trainer out. Our weekend forcast is for rain, rain and, yes, more rain! If the trails are wet, I usually have the option of getting on the road bike, but not if it's raining![]()
What's worse, is I'm having a saddle sore/cyst removed on Wed. So, I'll be off the bike for at least a week or two. I could practice sprinting, right![]()

Hey, gals 2500 mi. sounds like a good goal for 2007. I wanted to make 2000 miles for 2006 and was about 200 miles from my goal when I wimped out from the brrrr factor. If I counted my indoor trainer miles I did make my goal. All that being said I think I'll have to count indoor milage this year, but hope to make 2500 mi. outdoor milage for the year. I'm looking forward to every mile as I sat in front of my computer wanting to be outside.![]()

and ... don't let the brrr factor convince you you'll be cold unless you try it. I'm amazed at how cold I am NOT. I also know some people *do* get cold... but a lot of people don't realize how warm you get yourself.
But the nice thing is that 2500 can be done without riding in the nasties, especially if you stay fit in between.
I don't know how you guys in a really cold climate do it. Yesterday I had (from bottom) wool undersweater, longsleeve warm jersey, fleece vest, 100% windproof/waterproof raincoat; balaclava, super warm gloves, tights, winter long bike pants, wool socks, shoes, and the shoe cover things sorry, it's 6am...
My feet were getting cold after 28 miles in 38-40 degree weather!
The problem where I live is the current run of rain and fog--started Friday, still on tap for today. I squeezed in 20 miles yesterday between rainclouds, but today I'm afraid it's back to indoor cycling. Rats!
On the other hand, I already notice that this 2500-mile challenge is keeping me motivated to get in at least SOME mileage each day. Hope I can keep up the momentum!

Ok ladies, once again you've inspired me. I signed up! I keep saying I need to start doing some road miles to keep me nice and fit for mountain biking, so now's my chance to finally do it. I logged in my measly mtb. miles from last week, hope to keep inspired!![]()
Great job to everyone that's already posted great numbers!
