I'll be doing it here in Brisbane. I wasn't a rider when it was on last year but heard about it on the news and thought it was a nice and respectful idea.

TsPoet, where are you? I live in Pendleton. If that's closer, come do our Ride of Silence.
There is one right by my neurologist's office, so I have the ride on my Calendar.

In memory of Terry Walker and Amy Gehrig who were killed by a drunk driver on the west side of Cincy at 11:30am on a Sunday morning last summer. They were riding with a group from the Cincinnati Cycle Club. Terry was engaged to a friend of mine. Usually Sue rides with him but she didn't feel good that day and was at the back of the group. She saw the car hit Terry and Amy.
I met Terry on a CCC ride called the BCBCBC. The ride is on Labor Day weekend and is very hilly. The day started out very foggy and humid and I was struggling with my asthma. I was feeling pretty discouraged, everyone had gone off and left me and I couldn't breathe. Terry rode with me for a few miles and tried to encourage me and keep my spirits up. He was a very caring and loving man. I did not know Amy.
Terry was the love of Sue's life, he was a member of the Cincinnati Ski Club and the Cincinnati Cycle Club, and his death touched the members of both clubs.
There will be a Ride of Silence here in Denver and both myself and my SO will be riding in memory of Terry and Amy.

Ts--I'll let you know the details of our Ride of Silence when it gets closer. I'm surprised y'all don't have one in Tri Cities. I've done the Inland Empire Century the last 2 years. Do you do that?
I'm surprised, too. I've also stopped by one of the LBS and got a blank stare. Maybe I need to stop by our Scott's and see if they'd be interested in "advertising" one.
I'm a member of the other bike club (the one that doesn't sponsor the Inland Empire), but the Tricity Bicycle Club would be the more logical club to organize the ride, just don't know who to contact on that. Maybe I'll try again this year.
I could do it, but I can get rather abrasive and that's not what its about - better for me to take a back seat or supportive role if I can find someone nicer to organize the ride.
Thanks, if nothing else, maybe I'll advertise the Pendleton and/or Walla Walla rides if I can find some interested people.
