Well, since you asked, why are women's T-shirts made with such short arms?
The Agate T did have shorter, cap sleeves, and the piping is a style feature. I would not necessarily recommend this shirt for backpacking because of the these features. Last spring we introduced the Echo T for both men and women, and this shirt has slightly longer sleeves. It is made of the same 17.5 micron merino as the Agate, so it will feel just as comfortable and light.
