Thanks for the update, Deb. I know a few people who got their U-Know-What in Canada. Would be nice to be able to do it here.

Mimi - it's windy enough here that my power's gone out once already this morning. While I was in the bathroom. Without a window. Luckily I was txt messaging someone <snort!>, so my phone was a glowing beacon to guide me out of there.

I'll light a candle before I venture to take a shower.

Hee hee! Power flickered a few times, so I carefully lit a candle in a very safe very heavy glass votive and took it into the b'room with me for my shower. Just in case the power went out.

Part way thru my shower the *candle* went out!

Now I'm gonna walk the dog. Hope we don't blow away!

Dark an' Crappy this morning. Blah.
Peaceful morning. Getting (too) used to hauling the laptop into bed with me to check email and make sure friends and family are still there. Hid the laptop. Had a wake-up yesterday realizing I needed to focus on my work. Getting my posting in, then, before getting into it. Office is quiet b/c the stock market's closed today. Woohoo. Another true catchup day. It's not that I have ADD it's that I don't have the willpower all the time to not open up firefox and check email and TD and whip open Trill to chat with the ladies (and you know how popular I am with the ladies )
    So... RRRgh.
gotta be a good girl today.
wouldn't think it'd be so hard?

There is a strange yellow ball in the sky. I heard rumours of such a thing. Hopefully I will not scare it away and bring back the monsoon rains. (shudder)

I am waiting for the Service Master team to arrive and give me a quote. Please let it be an easy (read- inexpensive) fix. Keeping my fingers crossed. I do not want to give up any vital organs.

DH returned to work today and the kiddos go back to school tomorrow.

    2007 Continues to be bad.....

Yes, 2007 so far, stinks! Service Master was just here. Nice people, btw. We have a lot of water in the carpet, padding and in the wall. So, now we contact our friendly "like a good neighbour" insurance and pray an adjuster gets his/her bum here to declare it a total loss. I am not hopeful. I am crossing my fingers that an adjuster gets here before 4:30, and makes a ruling, because then at least I will know and can have Service Master come back tomorrow morning and do something.

Forgot to mention the high humidity in my house resulting in copious amounts of condensation on my windows. *sigh*

    Jen,
the good news is that your area is not a disaster area so you won't get a stressed out adjuster at your house (like my DH this month)
also, let us know if you have any trouble with him/her and my DH will tell you what to ask them to get them to perform the way you need them too.

Adjusters are human beings, I live with and love one a lot.

X, i am thrilled that when you see a cat you think of me. I wish I could wash my private parts that way too, but i'm too stiff and old to even try it.
