He pretty much sticks to Glenmorangie. It's too expensive to buy something you might not like.
That made the tasting really cool though because we did determine that he does not like the Islay ones.

That's the problem with those single malts - they are so darn expensive.
I like the highland and speyside scotches too. I think I have just burned out my palette with strong flavors, and all that gets through to me with any "message" anymore are the "poison" ones!
Does Thom like the Glenmorangies that are finished in different casks - port, sherry and madiera wood barrels, I believe? I enjoy those for after dinner drinks - and sometimes they go on sale at BevMo.
All this is putting me in the mood to go and rummage through my liquor shelf!

I think the port wood finish was my favorite too.
One of the best things about winter (to me) is enjoying a wee dram of scotch after dinner, with a good book, when it's warm inside and cold outside! Sounds like a plan for tonight! Cheers!![]()
