Hey Mr. Silver, I happened to notice that you have now lost over 20 pounds- is that indeed true??
If so- then CONGRATULTIONS!!! 20 pounds is not easy to lose, you must be on the right track. You've also learned how to eat healthier to lose weight, instead of just being "on a diet".
Keep going, you're doing great. I've lost 21-23 pounds in the past year (depending on guesstimating I may have gained between 1-3 pounds of muscle by biking). Losing 20 pounds really shows and I know how good it feels.![]()

Thanks Lisa, it's true...but progress has slowed...in part by design and in part because I don't walk fine lines well.
In addition, on Friday, I managed a 14 mile ride with Silver averaging 15mph.
I lost way too much, too fast, so I'm trying to go back to the 1lb/week plan
After a weird week before last, I've lost some of my discipline, but I'll be back on track tomorrow.

Yes well I've been on a plateau for a while myself. But at least I'm not gaining anything back!
I lost my 22 pounds at the rate of about 1/2 pound a week average- slow but steady is really what you want- it shows you've made a LIFESTYLE change.![]()

I'm right here with you two. I am down 42lbs w/ 15 to 20 to go. I've stalled out but am taking solace in the fact I haven't gained any back. The plan is to hold steady til the weather breaks and resume activities out of doors. I swear I can feel my weight shifting around on my body since I stopped riding regularly.
Lifestyle change is what it is all about. No doubt. Thing is, this time last year I was doing cardio 6days a week religiously. Knee injury knocked me down to 3x a week and the fear of pain has me skittish about doing more.
Spent last evening scouring through a couple of local bike route books, planning to spend the spring attacking the listed rides one by one.
Winter never seemed to last so long until I got my road bike![]()
