    Snowshoeing today!!

    Hi, everyone!

DH and I went up to the local xc ski area, Sovereign Lake near Silver Star, bought passes and used the snow shoe trails. It was fantastic! I'm really looking forward to the Gore Tex pants, but otherwise we were lacking nothing! The trees all covered in snow were fabulous, the trails looked like they were built by mountain bikers who love winding single track. We LOVED it!!

Next we just have to figure out if we'll have 10 more chances to head up there this winter - if so, we might as well buy the season's passes.

We took are Garmin GPS HRMs - here's where we went:

Of course, it's soooo beautiful there, but I don't want my bulky camera with me, so now we're lusting after a nice little point and shoot digital....we'll have to wait for plumber money, though. DH had his new camera phone. The pic isn't amazing, but it does give you an idea of the trails and the snow.

Lisa, have you got any snow yet??

Back to painting the kitchen now! Hugs and butteflies,

    Hey LBTC,

Glad you got out in the snow. Snow shoeing is fantastic. I'm trying to get it together to get out on my x-c skis but haven't made it yet.

I am also in the market for a new camer and have been doing some homework. The Olympus stylus 720(??) looks like a great option for active people. It's small, it's shock resistant and it's water resistant!! The price tag is also not too bad.

Anyway, it's on my wish-list. Just thought I would share.

PS - the offer still stands to e-intro you to my friend in Vernon. They are big hikers and I'm sure they'd be into snow shoeing.

Hi, Wahine! Yup, the Olympus stylus would be the first I'd look for. I trust their picture quality, and have read good reviews for the line. 'course we must wait for plumber money before that.....the snowshoes were a big investment for us right now, but figured that they'll actually help us to get/keep fit. Makes it more worth it, right?

We'd enjoy meeting your friends here in Vernon, but we are definitely not at the calibre of activity that they are. And we are both in pretty poor shape right now. Not sure if that would give us enough in common for them to enjoy the meet - but we'd be game if they are.

Hope you get those skis out soon and enjoy the snow!

    Hugs and butterflies,

Amazing..Can I come for a visit? I will bring my snowshoes and my backcountry skis.

Awesome. I LOVE when winter looks like that. Thanks to Global Warming...or some other weather weirdness, we do not get that much in these parts anymore.

    Enjoy!!!!

So glad you got to enjoy the snow. The picture is fantastic. Still waiting for enough snow here in the east. We did have enough to pull my nephew in a sled yesterday, but today is rain.
