Hey, Kit, I'll letcha kiss my dog, too.

He's got chicken-stew breath, but he'll let you kiss him on his soft furry forehead. And he'll gaze adoringly with his beautiful brown eyes at anyone who feeds him, and I've got a big box of dog biscuits.

    X & Bmof3,

the Weird Al parody, yeah, that's just what I want to hear from a strangers phone on BART. "Thank you for sharing."

But hey, if I hear "ring ring Why'd you have to go and make me so constipated? 'Cause right now I'd do anything to just get my bowels evacuated" around late March and the Cindy I'll know...

    hey, it's X!!!

It's 3am in Norway. So far, 2007 is peaceful here. No fireworks through the windows this year either. Now off to bed. Take care of the New Year for me as I sleep. Gotta be up early tomorrow to bake pies. 14 guests coming over to taste haggis (UK and her Scottish bf brought some over, at my dh's request) with neeps and tatties. Cherry pies for dessert
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

In my semi-drunken 01.01. 3am state, a thought about broken DVD-players in laptops occurred to me. Didn't somebody on this thread suggest giving the laptop a wallop, that maybe shaking some loose connection would make the laptop think there was a new dvd installed ...? Well, you might not want to do that because you risk damaging the hard disk if you wallop too hard. But the notion of tricking the laptop into thinking it has a new piece of hardware is a good one. In fact, two random friends at the neighbors' New Year party had recently had similar experiences with non-functional bits on their pc's where the solution proved to be as simple as disconnecting stuff and then reconnecting again. So how about doing this gently by finding the release button that lets you slip the dvd unit out of the laptop, slip it out, then slip it back in again? Can't hurt anything, and might be all the repair you need for now.

    And now good night.

Hey, Trek - it's not me downloading that song. Blame it on BMo3! That was a mild one. You will know me at the Cinderella. I'm kinda hard to miss. Besides, I will be hanging with some other, much cooler TE'ers than me.

**DJ X back after the commercial break to rock the scene on TD**

DJ Fox taking a quick break from the rush of the modern to touch on a classic that cannot be denied. "Tenderly" sung by none other than Billie Holliday

The evening breeze caressed the trees tenderly
The trembling trees embraced the breeze tenderly
Then you and I came wandering by
And lost in a sigh were we
The shore was kissed by sea and mist tenderly
I cant forget how two hearts met breathlessly
Your arms opened wide and closed me inside
You took my lips, you took my love so tenderly

I wish I had someone to dance with. Knot, does Stinky Dog dance, too?

Hey all. Happy New Years! I'm fading fast but trying to say awake one.... more.... hour.... Just spent all afternoon and evening working and programming and translating grids and getting a model run started for a calculation that will take 2+ weeks of CPU time and needs to be done in 2-3 weeks. Finally got it going at 11 pm. Now my brain is fried. I did have a good morning, though. Babysat for my nephews last night and woke up at their house this morning, which meant I got to play in the snow with the 3 year old. And the 5-month old just got over the "I don't want anyone but mommy to hold me" phase, so he as a delight also.

Wishing everyone a wonderful 2007. May your hopes and dreams come true.

BMo3- I'm twisted and I know it. But this one's for you.

    Im your only friend
    Im not your only friend
But Im a little glowing friend
But really Im not actually your friend
    But I am

    (*refrain*)
Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
    Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say Im the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

I have a secret to tell
    From my electrical well
Its a simple message and Im leaving out the whistles and bells
So the room must listen to me
    Filibuster vigilantly
My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e
    My storys infinite
Like the longines symphonette it doesnt rest
    *refrain*

    Im your only friend
    Im not your only friend
But Im a little glowing friend
But really Im not actually your friend
    But I am

    Theres a picture opposite me
    Of my primitive ancestry
Which stood on rocky shores and kept the beaches shipwreck free
Though I respect that a lot
Id be fired if that were my job
After killing jason off and countless screaming argonauts
    Bluebird of friendliness
Like guardian angels its always near

    *refrain*

    For all you EST people...

As this year closes and we approach the new beginning before us, I want to figuratively raise my glass in a toast...
To the past, with its lessons learned, experiences gained and lasting memories
To the present- the brief moment in which we live, ever changing, ever developing
and to the future- where anything is possible as long as we put forth the effort and have the desire.
To merry meetings and merry partings, to being poor in dollars but rich in sense (and possibly changing that), to recognizing what makes you happy and going for it.

Here's to our collective futures, our independent experiences, to love and to life.

Well, I see my little sister has decided to steal my DJ job??! Hmmmph! Well, yer gonna have to try harder than that Kit. Watch and be amazed...

**DJ X bringing everyone closer together through music**

Coming to you live on New Year's Eve. I've got a special request for our very own BMo3 from her sisters in crime. So if any of you groovy cats out there want a great classic by an incredible song writer and musician, cozy on up to your honey, or your dog... and relax to some John Lennon. May we all learn a lesson for the new year to come from his words...

    Enjoy Jen.

    Imagine
    by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try
No hell below us, Above us only sky
Imagine all the people, Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries, It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion too
Imagine all the people, Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer, But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us, And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people, Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer, But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us, And the world will live as one

    Be at peace TE TD.
