I'm surprised, but happy, that you haven't already!

'Course I don't actually "get it" but I am slowly being "enlightened" by reading TD...

Sitting around waiting for my sweetie to get home. She's driving home in the dark from her mom's, about 1 1/2 hrs. Said she'd call me when she got home.

Of course, she's 50 years old, so i dunno what the h*ll I'm worried about. She *does* know how to drive... Doesn't matter, I worry anyway.

    Knot-trans-contintental-worry-wart

(grammar grinch question: is it "trans-contintental" if you are referring to north-south, or only if you are referring to east-west?)

Edit: anybody want to make guesses why her power-steering fluid leaks away and her steering whines like mad when the car is cold? (it's a '99 Alero) She just had the alternator replaced. Accessory belt, power steering pump, master cylinder, leaky hose? The whine makes me think its something before the master cylinder, but I don't know nothin' 'bout cars... so I'll just worry until I hear she got home ok.

Edit #2: ok, she's home. Worry over for the nonce.

Knot - leave it. Oh, and the car... sounds like the rack for the steering is going. They are expensive. Very much so. It won't go out of control, but it will become very hard to make turns and stuff. She'll be fine driving it home. But I would consider either getting it fixed ASAP or trade it in before it goes totally.

Now that Saddam is dead, can the US leave Iraq and my brother come home? In the last 4 years he's only been home a total of 6 months.

And why did we put Saddam into power in the first place all those years ago?

    CC - try this link

    http://support.gateway.com/s/issues/2-970266507.shtml

    It says:

This issue only occurs if an external monitor is connected and extended desktop is enabled in display properties. If extended desktop is not enabled, this issue does not occur.

RESOLUTION: This issue only occurs if using extended desktop in Windows® 2000. If you are not using extended desktop in Windows 2000, you do not have this specific issue. Continue troubleshooting. This specific issue does not apply to Windows XP.
This issue occurs because of a video solution limitation on the M350WVN and M305CRV notebook computer. To workaround the problem, turn off extended desktop and watch the DVD on your mobile LCD screen.

Use the following steps to turn off extended desktop:

Right-click in an empty area of the desktop, and then select Properties.
In Display Properties window, click the Settings tab.
On the Settings tab, click to clear the check mark from Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor, and then click OK.

    dvd

    The dvd bit is dead..

None of the items are on my computer's properties..

I now just need a place that rents dvd players...Or i could just go and see "little miss sunshine"at the theatre..on my own...I really want to watch "murderball"

I have the house to myself until next weekend..I had to come back earlier from NZ as i couldn't get all the leave i wanted..

I've been a part blob for a bit...not only that but i've scratched the tops of my feet so much that they don't look too healthy..what's worse is wearing any type of shoe...I wanted to go for a bike ride later but need something to soothe my feet once home..cream doesn't work that well...

Ok..i'm off to see the film "The Queen"...i def don't want to sit at home tonight..

Funny, I was just wondering tonight how your vacation was going. How much time did you get in NZ? Did you have fun? And how was "The Queen"? Mirren is SO good.
